The RX-2217 2U rackmount computer is an advanced Pentium server designed with flexibility in mind. It offers the latest Intel Pentium dual core processors with or 1MB or 2MB L2 cache on a motherboard that supports up to 2GB of DDR memory housed in a 27” deep chassis for an easy upgrade path to a dual processor motherboard. There is an internal 3.5” drive bay for a hard drive but with three open 5.25” drive bays adding fixed or removable hard drive storage is no problem. The system has onboard audio, video and LAN. Three open horizontal PCI slots provide room for add-on cards. The system has front LEDs to monitor power, hard drive and LAN, front and rear USB ports, up to a 600W power supply, and a cooling system backed by two 80cm ball-bearing fans. Whether it’s an entry-level file server or a Network Attached Storage appliance, this system is good choice where rack height is a problem but rack depth isn’t.
