Having all your input and output interfaces accessible from the front of the rack is what the RX-1123 was designed for. With its Intel Pentium D processor and two internal hard drive bays, this 1U rackmount computer can be an entry-level server for firewall, VPN, telephony, telecom, VoIP, network security or military application. But many will find this system even more valuable as a workhorse workstation where front access to USB ports, serial ports and, more importantly, the interfaces on the PCI card that can be added, offers convenience and saves time. Another nice feature is that the PS/2 ports and the video port are in the front so you can easily plug in monitor, keyboard and mouse only when they are needed. The LAN connection is in front, too, so conceivably you could plug into different servers in the time it takes to reboot the system. No accessible drives means greater security for the system but you could always load software or extract data via a USB CD-ROM or rewritable drive or storage device. The default configuration includes 256MB RAM and a 250GB SATA hard drive. Use the second drive bay to mirror system and data files. This 1U rackmount computer comes with a 300W power supply that plugs in from the rear. The cooling system includes a huge 192mm blower in the back.
